this computer-animation was used in cinemas all over germany to promote the publication of the »weltalmanach 2000« (fischer paperbacks, frankfurt) which was announced at the frankfurt bookfair. the almanach, which contains all the information about the current state of the world, lended itself to this visual joke about the black monolith in kubricks »2001 - a space odyssey«.
five first generation imacs took ten long days and as many sleepless nights to render the 2160 single frames from bryce (!). today with motion, shake and final cut this clip could be done within hours...
